Introduction

MOOC stands for Massive Open Online Course. ESDGs! MOOC is an online course that is
designed to provide open access to educational content and promote interactive participation
from students to learn sustainable development goals. In general, MOOCs have gained popularity
as a form of distance learning and are now used by universities, corporations, and other
organizations to deliver online education to large numbers of learners.
The ESDGs! MOOC has been created by an international consortium of European universities
funded by the European Commission.
This guide is intended for educators to apply ESDGs! MOOC to promote sustainable development
goals related learning. In practice, the educators have two main alternatives to applying ESDGs!
MOOC to promote sustainabitity related learning.
1) Apply ESDGs! MOOC learning materials as a standalone learning environment to support
sustainable development goals related learning OR
2) Adapt part of the ESDGs! MOOC learning materials with other course materials.
